Ordered a test mug with my art on it!

Hi all,

Just a quick update. I have been playing around with adding my watercolor painting to a mug. I tried out zazzle.co.uk and found that they allow you to customize the available products with lettering as well as your own images. With Redbubble any words have to already be part of your design. I ordered a mug with my art and “home sweet home” on it. Can’t wait to see how it turns out! Have a great week.

Summer Update

Hi everyone, It’s been a bit of a rough few months but I’m trying to get back on track.  I have been sketching as a form of anxiety relief and have decided to turn them into watercolor paintings. I want to see if there is any interest in my art so will be offering my creations on various products via RedBubble. I am continuing to make handmade mini albums and journals and have several projects on the go as well as my art. Both versions of my first watercolor painting are now available. The other image below is a  journal I’m making using a manila envelope.

To see my latest baby album click on the video below. I apologize in advance for the poor audio I had been fighting a lingering cough for over a month. I bought a camcorder to shoot the video that had a very weak internal mic so I had to do a voice over for the first time. I plan to try and post more regularly to my blog starting in August.

Also, I finally broke down and opened an Instagram account. We’ll see how that goes.

I hope you all have a great week.

#Inktober and a finished album

Hiya, I hope you’ve all had a great week. It seems to have flown by. The nights are drawing in here in the UK and the weather is confusing. Some days have been nice n warm, others I’ve been wrapped up in blankets. I love the changing colors of the trees.

Inktober is a popular art challenge with many Youtubers that was started by Jake Parker. You get a prompt list and you sketch in ink during the month of October and post it on social media. It is a way to have fun, step out of your comfort zone and get into the habit of drawing every day. Will I? Won’t I? I’m not sure. I’ve done some sketches with my own prompts but haven’t inked them yet. Maybe I’ll do it once a week starting tomorrow. Watch this space. If you’re interested in taking part just google Inktober 2018 to find the rules and Jake’s prompts.

I have finally finished the Peacock Album that I started earlier in the year. Thankfully its a surprise for a friend so there was no pressure. The reveal video is ready but my phone decided to record it at a weird angle for some reason. I hope you like it. There’s a list of the products I used in the videos description box

Have A great Weekend!

Recent Project Updates

Hi everyone, It’s been a year of more ups and downs healthwise for me but I’ve finally got some things to share. I’m working on making a business to sell my papercraft creations and original art locally and online. I don’t have a set launch date due to my health constantly throwing a spanner in the works. I have to say a big thank you to Anthony Church who is building me a website, for being so patient and understanding. I’ll be updating this post as the videos are ready and posted to Youtube. Have a great weekend.

All the best,

Kerrie

Finished and New Creations

Hiya, How’s everyone on this cold snowy December Day? I’m snuggled up on the couch with the dogs so thought I’d share my recent creations and current projects. Since my last 2 blog posts, I’ve finally found out why I’ve been so unwell. I have a condition called FND (Functional Neurological Disorder) and low iron levels. You can find out more info about the condition at fndaction.

I finally finished the baby album that I’ve been working on since June, in September. I used several different paper collections. I’ll list them as I remember.

  • Tickled Pink digital collection from http://www.nitwitcollections.com
  • Vintage Floral Butterfly 6″ Paper Pad by Dovecraft from  creat_crafts
  • Its A Girl 12×12 paper collection by First Edition
  • Ribbons and bows from my stash
  • Stickles
  • Glossy Accents
  • The pink flowers on the cover are coloured using alcohol markers Flower trim braid from bonanza-craftmart

Just a few photo’s of some completed projects

Hi everyone, This going to be short and sweet as I’m still ill. Will be seeing a neurologist. I’m not crafting very much lately, just don’t seem to have the energy, takes me longer to wrap my mind around what I want to do, struggle to remember how, lose words and concentration. Thank you all for liking my posts and following my blog.

  1. A  refillable pocket note book

2. Faux leather journal and pocket made using vegetable glycerine and Kraft cardstock technique I learned on youtube.

3. Baby boy gate fold mini album made as a surprise for a friend. It was a Prima ready assembled album that I gutted, as I didn’t like the hinge system and 1/4inch thick coaster like pages it had.

4. A requested baby girl album currently in the works. Struggling to do it but I have 3 months before the baby comes to complete it.

All the best and have a great weekend x

Kerrie

Recent Craft Creations/Inspirations

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to share this feminine, single signature, Junk Journal I made a couple months ago and gifted to the Papworth Trust Charity. I initially had problems getting a true print of the images, they kept printing too dark. After much fiddling with the saturation n  things on my laptop, I got a print I could live by the time I decorated the front cover.  The digital design collections are beautiful. The products I used are listed below.

  • For the cover I used digital collage sheet Shabby Dreams from  KristieArtDesigns, the cover decoration is Elegant Ladies also by Kristie; and a journaling card from the Butterfly Delight collection by ARTYmaze.
  • The digital designs and ephemera collections used throughout are by KristieArtDesigns, ARTYmaze and Tsunami Rose which can be purchased on https://www.etsy.com.
  • The bulk of the pages I used are printer paper colored using Momento inks, Brusho by Coulorcraft, a butterfly stamp, doilies, and Journal Refill paper.
  • The Journal refill paper, not currently pictured is from Bookshell a store on Etsy
  • I also used a clear glitter brush pen by Spectrum Noir

My next post will be another baby album after that I’m not sure when I will post again as I have been ill for a few months and am awaiting results from blood tests.

All the best,

Kerrie

Recent Craft Inspirations/Creations

Hi Everyone,

It’s been awhile as I’ve not been well. Freezing temperatures here in the UK are causing me a lot of joint pain Thank you to all of you who are following my blog posts. I hope you’re all well and keeping warm.

I’ve finally completed the 71/4 x 71/4 baby girl album using a digital paper collection from Nitwit Collections and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The little door knobs are by  Tim Holtz, I think. Since then I’ve worked on  some smaller projects.

Next I made a place card using roses , lace and flat back pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts. On the back I inked some plan white cardstock and used strips of the same pattern paper I used on the front. I’ll add the name of the paper collection later.

After watching I don’t know how many videos on vintage junk journals I decided to try and make one in vintage 1950’s vintage. I was a bit ambitious with 3 signatures. I can’t remember the name of the paper collection I used. I’ll dig it out and add it later. Some things are from my scraps, I also coffee died some paper and stamped it with butterflies. I used dollies from my stash.

After discovering digital design paper artists on Etsy I decided to have a go at a single signature journal as a gift for a friend. The bulk of the papers are dyed using coffee, Momento inks and Brusho by Colourcraft. I also used some of the Ideology Wildflower paper collection by Tim Holtz.  Journaling pages and ephemera are from TsunamiRose, they can be found on Etsy. I used the Geared up stamp/die sets by Sheena Douglees which can be found on eBay or from the Crafters Companion site. After finishing it I discovered a seller Bookshell on Etsy that sells Journal refill paper. I’ll list the link below. It’s lovely paper available in white or cream, very reasonably priced. I will be posting pics of another  single signature journal with the paper in it shortly.

That’s all I have for now but I’ll be posting another baby album soon. I’ll update this post with more product information shortly. On of these days I might post a YouTube video….maybe.

All the best and have a great weekend,

Kerrie x
